Self Blame and Shooting for the Sun: Why it was Nessesary during the Capitalistic Revolution

During the age of the industrial giants, Carnegie, J.P Morgan, Rockefeller, and so forth, there was a specific idea during across America. The idea that, if you work hard enough, you can succeed, and if you don't succeed, you didn't work enough. Many would discuss that this idea was toxic and untrue, which in many cases it was, however, I believe that without these ideas, and without their power, America would have a very different mindset.

You cant motivate people without an incentive, and what better way to motivate someone than with fortune. Industrial giants understood this, and inspired the ideas of anyone can be rich, just work hard enough. This lead to absolutely massive progression in the layout of the country. Everything was being built and was getting done much faster because of it.

So while yes, thousands of people were chasing a dream that could never be accomplished, without these people existing our countries infrastructure would be much less defined
