Michael Jackson also known as the King of Pop is considered by many to be the greatest musical talent of all time. They say he had the complete package with his vocals and his amazing dance moves. In fact 35 years ago today Michael Jackson moonwalked on TV for the first time and this legendary move was created. He was an incredible entertainer that made pop culture so much more exciting in the 1980's. His music was so good and breaking so many records at the same time as it was breaking musical color barriers in the industry. Race was one of the controversies that summed up Jacksons career as he had so much plastic surgery that at the beginning of his career he was dark skinned and black but at the end he was really white. Some think he sold his soul or wanted to be white so bad to be at the top of the industry. He seemed to be bleaching his skin although he had a serious history of illness and health issues. But all of this was not true according to Michael. He is quoted on Oprah TV show that he has vitiligo a skin condition that makes him look whiter and he says he gets hurt when the media says he wants to be white because being black isn't good enough. He points out that nobody says anything about white people sitting in the sun for hours to get their skin darker but when his health condition turns him whiter everyone has a problem with it.
Also what defined Michaels career was a child molestation scandal when a family friend accused him of sexually abusing his son. He was taken to court but later settled with the family for an undisclosed amount of money. Years later he was tried again for different cases but was found not guilty but a lot doubted that he didn't do it due to his history. A few years later he was preparing for his musical comeback but died suddenly from cardiac arrest in 2009. The case was examined and it turns out his doctor was charged with involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 4 years. The public was extremely saddened that we lost a legend so early in his life and we wonder how he would be influencing the music in todays society. His career was full of ups and downs but he had an extremely successful career and made insane amounts of money.

Great post Christian. I found it interesting how you brought up his skin color transformation and how he suffered from a rare skin disorder. While, it was only a skin disorder, many people in the public thought that Michael deliberately made the change because he wanted to assimilate into white culture. However, this was clearly not the case as Michael Jackson continued to revolutionize the music industry.
